What Are Mod Plates

MOD PLATEWhat Are Mod Plates – When a vehicle has been significantly modified from its original state it still has to comply with Queensland Transport Regulations and Australian Design Rule Legislation.

A Modification Plate shows that the modifications have been done to the appropriate standard.

Here are some examples of modifications that need a Mod plate:

Changes made to the number of seats, different engines, transmissions, brakes or steering. Long range fuel tanks or roll cages also have to comply with the appropriate legislation.   This is mainly for safety reasons so that it does not present a hazard to the occupants or other road users.

The Modification Plate is usually fitted in the engine compartment.
